The 2008 Christmas Festival started in the City of Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria, on the 1st of December, amidst fun and excitement. The festival was marked opened with a city-walk against HIV which was then rounded up at the Cultural Centre Calabar by the launching and opening of the Christmas Village by the Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Senator Liyel Imoke and his dear wife Her Excellency, Obioma Imoke.
