LIVING LEGEND – DEAD OR ALIVE

His name is Michael Jackson, also known as the “King of Pop”. He was born on the 29th of August, 1958, unfortunately no one at then would have imagined that the greatest musician of all time had been born.

He shared a lot with my sister; they were both born on the 29th of August. And while my sister was born in the year 1985, Michael Jackson was born in the year 1958, just a reverse of the last two figures.

Before the age of six, he was a television personality. He thrilled crowds and audiences with his wizardry in music and dance. He never knew what it was to have a normal childhood with friends and all; he never experienced the fun of childhood because of the glamour and fame that encompassed him at a very early age.

This man happens not only to be the greatest musician of all time, but also my greatest musician of all time. My greatest wish, of which I always told my friends, was to have the opportunity to see Michael Jackson ‘The Legend’ live on stage in my city (Calabar, Nigeria) or anywhere else.

This was a man that made me scream and shout when he was on stage. He had moves that could boil the blood and keep one’s adrenalin on maximum. He was and is an enigma. His career was that of a genius. There was no doubt he was a special gift from heaven.

No musician before and even today has been able to appeal to both the young and old, rich and poor, black & white like Michael Jackson did.

Michael a pure Legend you are.

I am sure of this very thing - There was none as talented before him and they will be none as talented after him, even now and in the world to come.
